One of the most important parts of any science fiction movie is creating a world with internal logic: it doesn't necessarily have to seem extremely realistic in all aspects but there has to be something to build on that is at least semi-plausible. I suppose the people who made Repo Men thought that they could do this by keeping most of the details close to the world we live in: there aren't that many flashy, futuristic gadgets in this film. The problem is that there aren't enough incredible things here to distract from the absurdity of a future in which "repo men" are able to break into people's houses and repossess their artificial vital organs on site, more often than not ending the lives of their deadbeat customers, without any kind of witnesses or evident due process.

I suppose the film is meant to have some type of political meaning about a society in which banks lend people money on terms that can't realistically be repaid and a government which doesn't offer its citizens basic healthcare benefits but these obvious points generally are ignored in favor of off the wall action sequences with tons of gore. There's one scene where a couple of repo men (played by two actors who deserve better, Jude Law and Forrest Whitaker) find a "nest" of people attempting to flee the country with their unpaid for organs and proceed to violently slaughter what must be at least a couple of dozen people with a variety of (mostly bladed) weapons then cheerfully argue over which man deserves credit for a shared kill.

First off, I'm extremely embarrassed to say I actually took the time to watch this movie. That being said, I'm still sad that this hour and a half of my life was toilet bowled, but I did get to laugh out loud quite a few times. Unfortunately those were supposed to be very serious moments.

Where to begin with this debacle I do not know. As I was watching this absolutely ridiculous and cliché drenched mess I kept saying to myself "surely a teenager made this movie!" There's no other possible answer for this horrific story, acting, everything, you name it!

If I am able to save at least one poor soul out there the agony I've endured then I feel I've done my job here trying to help out mankind at least a bit. So please, please for the love of God stay as far as humanly possible away from not only this wrong side of town, but the same city, state and continent if at all possible. It doesn't matter if it's free on cable, pirated, you're drunk, stoned, or all of the above, it's not worth it!!!

If you absolutely must, then make sure someone pays you handsomely first.

This movie wasn't amazing if you give it the 'proper rating" but if you put everything aside and judge by how entertaining and fun it was to watch it becomes a solid good movie. The plot is kind of predictable but there are a couple of surprises which i found to be great. Although the acting wasn't incredible, it was good enough to pull off the script. I found the actors who played Zoe and Michael extremely likable and worth watching. And any of the relationships that were evident in the movie showed a lot of chemistry. The Dancing didn't technically impress me a whole lot, but it was once again very enjoyable and good enough to not really have to sit there and complain. Another thing i like about this movie is it does get to the point, i don't believe that it started off too slow and none of the moments dragged too much, i thought the timing was pretty good and couldn't wait for the commercials to end. Overall this movie isn't your typical good movie, but is is enjoyable and fun and that's why i think its worth watching. 7 out of 10.
